We decided to devote our efforts of teamwork into doing acts of kindness for others in our school. Our five-day action plan involved working as a team to bring kindness into the classroom. Each student drew five names of other students in our school. Each day, they did a “non-random act of kindness” for one of the people they drew. Each time they performed an act of kindness, they asked the receiver to pay it forward by doing something nice for someone else. Every time they came back, they had the hugest smiles on their faces!
We also played some team-building games and developed an appreciation for how our words and actions affect others.
Here are the five points we used to guide our team effort:
- Encourage each other.
- Look out for each other.
- Give good, honest advice.
- Be good role models for others.
- Treat others the way you want to be treated.
