Did you hear the good news?

Through any of the Calgary professional teams’ United by Community webpages, parents and educators can sign up to have access to a FREE suite of materials from the Flames, Hitmen, Stampeders, and Roughnecks.

The Calgary Sports and Entertainment Corporation (CSEC) teams have joined Classroom Champions, a leader in the social and emotional learning (SEL) space, to provide an educational hub of athlete videos and downloadable resources for elementary-aged kids and their families. Read more about the partnership here.

Your teams’ favorite athletes have worked with the experts at Classroom Champions to create brand new, inspirational messages to bolster kids’ spirits and emotional well-being during this COVID-19 pandemic (and beyond!). These Mindful Minute videos have been designed to be just-in-time messages of support and encouragement from well-known role models. And more are in the works!

Watch Stampeders #52 Riley Jones speak about his personal experience with the timely topic of stress in his new Mindful Minute:

Teachers can share these materials via Google Classroom, classroom portals, emails or packets. Parents can download the printables and watch the videos together with their kids. Teachers and parents also can sign up for Classroom Champions’ SEL Foundations Curriculum (K-8), currently available for free.

All four Calgary teams are committed to adding to this growing library of United by Community resources over time, so check back often to find new kid-friendly activities.
