Ready for the Free 8-Week SEL Challenge?

April 27, 2020

Today, we’re excited to release a brand new 8-Week SEL Challenge to make sure that kids are incorporating social and emotional learning (SEL) into their life during this COVID-19 pandemic and beyond. Our hope is that you can incorporate these short SEL activities into your kids’ daily routines.

Each week features five thematic activities related to those habits of mind we want kids to embrace: emotions, goal setting, perseverance, community, teamwork, feedback, healthy living, and leadership.

  • MINDFUL MONDAYS feature a one-minute Mindful Minute video from a world-class athlete.
  • TEACHABLE TUESDAYS feature an SEL-themed children’s book to read or watch via a read-aloud video.
  • WISDOM WEDNESDAYS feature a recent Classroom Champions LIVE video.
  • TOGETHER THURSDAYS feature activities to complete together from our Family Activity packets.
  • FEEL-GOOD FRIDAYS feature a wrap-up activity and reminder to share your progress.

To receive a weekly digital badge, simply post a photo or video of your kids completing each Friday’s challenge, and tag @ClassroomChamps on Twitter or @ClassroomChampions on Facebook or Instagram using the hashtag #SELChallenge. Collect all 8 badges to receive an official Classroom Champions certificate and poster.

The 8-Week SEL Challenge was designed to be accessed by both teachers and families, and it can work with kids of all ages. Tackle the daily activities together with younger kids, or challenge older children to lead younger siblings or friends through these daily activities.

Feel free to stick to the schedule or pick those activities that most appeal to your children. Our goal is to continue developing and strengthening kids’ social and emotional learning skills, so that they can keep a positive mindset throughout this COVID-19 crisis and look towards goals and dreams beyond this time. Simply sign up for free, check out the 8-week calendar of activities, and enjoy these meaningful moments together!
