Alberto Montilla is an international field hockey player and team captain who has played professionally across Europe and for the U.S. National Team. He began playing the sport at age six in his home country of Spain. Moving to the United States at age 14 presented challenges, including limited field hockey resources in his area. To keep his dream alive, Alberto and his father traveled once a month from Dallas to Los Angeles just to train, showing serious family commitment. Alberto connects with students to talk about resourceful problem-solving. He shows kids how determination and family support can overcome a lack of local resources.
