Fabian Romo is an elite wheelchair basketball player who has competed at the highest levels of international sport. A key player on the court, he turned an unexpected introduction to adaptive sports into a long-time athletic career. Fabian grew up using a leg prosthetic, but it was not until age 15 when he attended a track clinic at Shriners Hospital that he discovered wheelchair basketball. Stepping onto the court transformed his perspective, giving him a sense of wholeness and athletic purpose. Fabian brings a message of self-acceptance to students. He shows kids how finding the right activity and community can help you embrace who you are.
