At Classroom Champions, we bring Olympic and Paralympic athletes into classrooms with a year-long curriculum to help kids build the confidence, perseverance, and skills they need to succeed in school and in life.Through interactive videos, hands-on activities and ready-to-use lesson plans, the Champion Mindset comes to life, helping kids become more confident, resilient, connected and invested in their goals and growth. And when schools add an Athlete Mentor to their classrooms, the magic multiplies. Through video updates, messages, and live-chat opportunities, world-class athletes connect with students and teachers all year long, building meaningful relationships that motivate and inspire.Through this connection, the students gain a Champion in their corner -- someone who believes in them, lifts them up, and inspires them to see new possibilities.

During the live chat I had a student who could never attend events like this not only attend but he remained calm and asked a question on the screen. This was such a success! We had a student open up to Zachary sharing about his disability feeling brave enough to share in front of his peers. A young lady overwhelmed by nervousness still got in front and asked her question even though she was shaking. I walked away feeling inspired not only by Zachary and his incredible way with words but to watch middle school students with various disabilities conquer their fears and rise above! Classroom Champions is more than a program it’s a mindset and a way of achieving greatness no matter what.

Evidence-based, Award-Winning Curriculum

Our evidence-based, award-winning curriculum is self-paced and includes everything from one minute videos to kickstart the day to full 30-minute lesson plans that dive into skills like managing emotions. Delivered by world-class athletes, each lesson helps students build resiliency and social emotional skills.In dual-track French and English schools, we can try to pair with a bilingual athlete (pending availability), so the whole school can benefit together from shared SEL language and supports. In Indigenous communities or schools with high Indigenous populations, classrooms are paired with Indigenous Athlete Mentors, because we know representation matters.

School partnerships with Classroom Champions are fully funded in Western Canada, at no cost to the school or district, thanks to the Energizing Communities Collective (ECC). This group of 25+ corporations has joined together to support the work and mission of Classroom Champions. Since 2022, they have raised $7.5M to invest in and support Classroom Champions in school communities across Western Canada.
