Elana Meyers-Taylor

Elana Meyers Taylor grew up near Atlanta and has loved the Olympics since she was a kid. When she was just 11 years old, she even helped carry the Olympic torch at the 1996 Games!Elana was great at many sports and played softball in college. After college, she tried something new—bobsledding—and made the national team in her very first year. She went on to compete in several Olympic Games and win many medals.At the 2022 Winter Olympics, Elana made history by becoming the most decorated Black athlete in Winter Olympic history, winning two medals. She now has more Olympic medals than any other woman in bobsled!Elana is also a proud mom to two sons, Nico and Noah, who are both deaf. She is learning American Sign Language (ASL) to communicate with them and works to support children with disabilities.Elana’s story shows that you can be a champion—on the track and in everyday life.
