Melissa Bishop

Melissa Bishop is a 3x Olympian representing Team Canada in track and field. She specializes in the 800m, which is two laps around the track. Melissa is Canada’s fastest 800m runner in history! In 2015, after coming off a major injury, Melissa won a gold medal at the Pan American Games in Toronto. Three weeks later, she shocked the world, running a new Canadian Record and a personal best, earning her a silver medal at the World Championships. Her time was 1:57:53. The following year in 2016, Melissa ran at her second Olympic games in Rio and finished fourth, breaking the record yet again with a time of 1:57:03. In 2017, Melissa yet again broke the record in Monaco on one of her favourite tracks, with a time that stands today at 1:57:01.
