Carter was in the stands watching the Paralympic Winter Games Vancouver 2010 as part of the Paralympic Experience Vancouver delegation for young student athletes, and only four years later, it was his turn to compete in the Paralympic Winter Games...Had his leg amputated as an infant after being born without a fibula...Played tennis and skateboarded growing up, but fell in love with skiing after attending the Pennsylvania Center for Adapted Sports camp when he was only eight years old...Son of Edward and Suzanne Carter...Has one brother, Jackson...Hobbies include skiing, yoga, hiking and watching movies...Favorite movies are Jurassic Park, Star Wars and Captain America...Favorite TV shows are Impractical Jokers and Big Bang Theory...Huge lover of the trading card game, Magic the Gathering - has been playing since he was eight...Big advocate of living healthy and active lifestyles...Owns two German Shepherds, Lexie and Rocky...Starting his third year as an Athlete Mentor for Classroom Champions, a non-profit organization partnering Olympic and Paralympic athletes with students and teachers in underserved communities. Tyler mentors elementary school students in the Denver and San Francisco Bay areas.
