Be a part of the movement

Over the past decade, Western Canadian corporations have made a substantial impact directly in their own backyards. A partnership with Classroom Champions brings a real, powerful and life-changing movement throughout the communities you serve, helping kids realize their potential and become impactful and active citizens.

The Power of Support

Long-time corporate sponsor Crescent Point Energy has supported Classroom Champions for over a decade. Throughout those 10 years they have impacted 22 communities and over 5,000 students across Alberta and SE Saskatchewan. We wanted to say thank you and celebrate all that we've accomplished together.

Impact in Action

A wide variety of programs to offer your community.

The Foundation: Curriculum for teachers, by teachers

Our SEL Foundations Curriculum builds the groundwork for social and emotional wellbeing in our children. It draws on 8 unit themes taught by 8 different world-class athlete mentors. Building the curriculum was a joint effort, by our educational experts, teachers in the field, and athletes who are drawing on their mindset and experiences to bring these lessons to life.

The Mentorship: Direct connection and life-long impact

Our Mentorship+ experience brings a completely life-changing dynamic to the classroom or school. For 32 weeks, an Olympic or Paralympic athlete will add their own personal experiences to the unit themes on top of the curriculum. Each month kids will hear directly from their mentor, no matter where they're training. Athlete Mentors will bring the experience that they are living in that very moment to help kids truly grasp the meaning of each lesson. These Mentors are more than faces on a screen, they are considered friends to students and a invaluable teaching partners to educators.

Indigenous Programming: Mentorship & Curriculum

Our Circle Program takes the Mentorship and Curriculum and customizes it to local culture and context. Created by experts in our partner Indigenous communities, this curriculum not only focuses on what's important for Indigenous kids, but it also pairs each classroom with an Athlete Mentor of Indigenous heritage, like the first First Nations woman to make an Olympic Hockey team, Brigette Lacquette.

Bringing Community and Sponsors Together: Community Celebration Events

Community celebration events are a keystone annual event in many Classroom Champions and Classroom Champions Circle communities across Western Canada. They support schools in hosting athletes, like First Nations athlete and Olympian Jesse Cockney, as well as inviting parents, and engaging sponsors and other communities members to celebrate the achievements of students and teachers throughout the program year.

An evidence-based approach

Our evidence-based approach conducts research before and after programming on key areas for students’ future success, including hope and goals for the future, engagement, healthy behaviors, growth mindset, grit and perseverance, digital skills, and academic outcomes.

In teachers, we measure classroom practices and outcomes, job performance and engagement, growth mindset, and healthy behaviors. In mentors, we measure communication, leadership, and career skills. Our research shows improvements in social and emotional development, classroom attendance, school suspensions, and math and reading scores.
